Terms of service

Draft of 3 November 2026

These terms cover the Glowbeam software development kit (the "SDK"), its licence keys and tokens, the customer console and our licence server (together, the "Service"). They form an agreement between [legal entity name] ("we") and the company that orders a licence ("you"). If an order form or signed contract says something different, that document wins.

1. Your licence

While your subscription is paid, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to build the SDK into the apps listed on your licence, on the platforms listed there, and to distribute it to your users only as part of those apps. Your licence covers the feature modules, effect tabs and slider ranges of your plan, as shown in the customer console.

  • A licence key belongs to you and may be used only in your registered apps.
  • You may not share, sell or publish a licence key, or let another company use it.
  • Trial and test licences are for evaluation only and may not be used in a store release.

2. What you may not do

  • Remove, bypass or weaken the licence checks, or help anyone else do so.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or extract the SDK, its models or its effect pack, except where law allows it.
  • Ship the SDK as a stand-alone product or in a competing SDK.
  • Use the SDK to identify people, or for any purpose that breaks the law or app store rules.

3. Fees and payment

Plans are billed monthly per feature module, with the price agreed in your order. Each payment extends your licence to a new paid-through date. If a payment is late, your licence keeps working for a grace period of [3] days after the paid-through date and then stops until you pay. [Add currency, invoicing, taxes and late payment terms.]

4. How licences stop

Licence tokens are short-lived and are refreshed while your app runs. When a licence stops, because it was not paid, because you cancelled or because we suspended it under section 7, the SDK in your apps stops drawing effects once the current token expires or is refused. Plan for this in your app.

5. Your users and their data

The SDK processes camera frames on the device and sends no images to us. Your app's licence client sends us licence requests and usage counts, as described in our privacy policy. You are responsible for telling your users about this in your own privacy notice and app store listings, and for any consent you need. Where we process personal data for you, our data processing addendum applies.

6. Third-party content

Some effects use third-party art under open licences, such as 3D glasses models under CC BY 4.0. Where a licence requires credit, you must show the credits we provide inside your app, for example on a licences screen. The list is on our credits page.

7. Suspension

We may suspend a licence at once if a key is shared or leaked, if the licence checks are tampered with, or if continued use would harm the Service or other customers. We will tell you why and work with you to restore service. [Agree notice periods for non-urgent cases.]

8. Support and changes

We provide support by email at the level of your plan. We may update the SDK, the effect pack and the Service. We will not remove a feature you pay for during a paid period without offering a fair alternative or a refund for that period.

9. Warranty and liability

The SDK and Service are provided as described in our documentation. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, they are provided "as is". [Insert a liability cap, for example the fees paid in the last 12 months, and the usual exclusions.]

10. Term and ending

These terms apply while you have a licence. Either side may end a subscription at the end of a paid period. When it ends, you must stop distributing new builds that contain the SDK. Copies already installed by your users will stop working when their tokens expire.

11. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [country], and the courts of [city] have jurisdiction. Questions: hello@example.com.
